streaming @ the margins of play
The majority of people who livestream on sites like Twitch do it for very small or no audiences at all. Yet most research focuses on large, celebrity streamers. Since 2015, this research project has investigated those 'microstreamers' as they stream game play, game development, and other activities. It looks at how liveness, authenticity, a streaming meta and theories of serious and casual leisure are important ways to understand that practice.
